tert.am

The Tert (Newspaper in Armenian) news website was launched in 2008 by "Media Style" LLC, founded and wholly owned by Arman Sahakyan, who later served as a Member of Parliament for the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).
In 2013, ownership transferred to the newly established "Tert Am" LLC, which purchased the website. From 2015 to 2019, Tert.am operated as part of the "PanArmenian Media Group," a conglomerate that included television channels "Armenia TV," "A-TV," "ArmNews," and "PanArmenian TV" (USA), websites Tert.am and Blognews.am, and radio stations "Radio Jan" and "Lav Radio." According to press reports, the group's ultimate beneficial owner was Mikayel Minasyan, son-in-law of Armenia's third President Serzh Sargsyan and former Ambassador to the Vatican.
When "PanArmenian Media Group" dissolved in 2019, several of its assets—including "ArmNews" TV, "Lav Radio," and Tert.am—were transferred to the newly created "Quartet Media" CJSC. This company was founded by four prominent political figures, all former RPA Members of Parliament: Mihran Hakobyan, Karen Bekaryan, Samvel Farmanyan, and Arman Saghatelyan.
After approximately three years of operation across television, radio, and online news, "Quartet Media" announced in 2022 it was suspending operations. "ArmNews TV's" license was subsequently terminated, while "Radio 107 FM" and Tert.am initially announced plans to continue independently. However, in January 2025, "Radio 107 FM's" broadcast license was also terminated due to financial difficulties.
Tert.am continues to operate, including its "Tert.am Life" and "Tert.am Medicine" sections, though with reduced activity compared to previous years. While Tert.am director Aram Antinyan announced a proposal to acquire ownership of Tert.am and "Radio 107 FM" from "Quartet Media," the State Register of Legal Entities shows that "Quartet Media" CJSC remains the 100% owner of both entities.

Voting power is proportional: each shareholder's votes correspond to their percentage of shares in the company's charter capital. Day-to-day operations are managed by a director elected by the general meeting of shareholders. The director is authorized to execute transactions on behalf of the company without requiring a separate power of attorney, provided the transaction value does not exceed 25% of the company's net assets. | Meta Data | Despite announcing in 2022 that it was ceasing operations, "Quartet Media" CJSC remains the registered 100% owner of both "Tert Am" LLC and "Radio 107 FM" LLC as of September 2025. In 2025, a significant change occurred in the company's ownership structure: Karen Bekaryan withdrew as an ultimate beneficial owner (UBO), transferring his 25% share to Mihran Hakobyan. Following this change, the three remaining UBOs are Mihran Hakobyan, Samvel Farmanyan, and Arman Saghatelyan. The State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia lists "Quartet Media" CJSC as bankrupt. However, the bankruptcy case remains under review by the Court of Cassation, and no final ruling has been issued. Media Ownership Monitor contacted Aram Antinyan, director of "Tert Am" LLC, for clarification on these matters but did not receive a response. | |
