Golos Armenii

The newspaper Golos Armenii was established in 1991 on the foundation of the Communist Party's newspaper Kommunist. It is the only Russian-language newspaper that continues to be printed in Armenia.
As of 2025, it is published once a week on Tuesdays, with a stated circulation of 1,500 copies. The newspaper primarily offers news, analytical articles, and opinions, covering political, economic, social, cultural, and other topics.
Since 1992, the chief editor of Golos Armenii has been the journalist Flora Nakhshkaryan, who previously worked at the Communist Party's Kommunist newspaper for 16 years, rising from junior editor to first deputy editor-in-chief.
The publishing company, "Golos" LLC, received its state registration in 2000, nine years after the newspaper's founding. From its establishment until June 2025, the sole owner and director of the company was the chief editor, Flora Nakhshkaryan. In June 2025, ownership transferred to Samvel Karakhanyan, who became the 100% owner of "Golos" LLC, while Nakhshkaryan continues to serve as the director.
During the mid-1990s Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Golos Armenii faced government pressure due to its critical political coverage. The editorial office was targeted in an arson attack, and Chief Editor Flora Nakhshkaryan was physically assaulted on two occasions.
The newspaper’s relationship with subsequent administrations underRobert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan was notably more positive. Flora Nakhshkaryan received official recognition from both presidents: the Movses Khorenatsi Medal from Armenia's second president, Robert Kocharyan, and the title of "Honored Journalist of the Republic of Armenia" from Serzh Sargsyan.
Under the current administration, the newspaper has adopted a critical editorial stance, particularly regarding the government’s policy and the deteriorating Armenian-Russian relations.
