Avtoradio was established in Russia in 1992 as a musical and informational radio station, broadcasting in numerous cities across Russia and other countries. In Yerevan, the Avtoradio program is aired by Avtoradio LLC. According to annual reports of the Television and Radio Commission, the company held licenses to broadcast in the capital for the periods 2005–2017 and 2017–2027.


Avtoradio LLC was founded in 2004 by Artavazd Amiryan, nephew of former Minister of Culture and former Director of Public Radio Armen Amiryan, together with Armen Avagyan, who left the company the following year. As of September 2025, Kristine Sargsyan owns 66% of the company, while Armen Amiryan holds the remaining 34%.

According to annual reports of the Television and Radio Commission, the broadcasting license for the Avtoradio radio program was granted in 2005. Avtoradio LLC received state registration in 2004. However, an article titled Impartial Information, High Spirits: Autoradio is 10 Years Old, published on the Public Radio website in 2016, suggests the station was founded in 2006, creating a discrepancy in the founding date.

    Artavazd Amiryan founded Avtoradio LLC in 2004. In 2022, he transferred a 34% stake to his uncle, Armen Amiryan, former Minister of Culture and former Director of Public Radio.

    Artavazd Amiryan is a television and radio host with many years of production experience. From 2001 to 2007, he worked at Armenakob TV Company, founded by his uncle, hosting various programs including Minchev 18 yev... (Up to 18 and...) and 1 Ory 30 Ropayum (1 Day in 30 Minutes). From 2007 to 2010, he worked at Armenia TV Company, where he organized the Blef television project and hosted the musical program Nostalji. In 2011, he worked at Yerkir Media TV Company, hosting the informative and analytical program Barev Yerkir (Hello Country).

    In 2006, Artavazd Amiryan founded FM Times LLC, connected to Armen Amiryan's radio stations. A few months later, ownership transferred to Karine Shahinyan, who, according to media reports, serves as accountant for Amiryan's companies.

    From 2015, Artavazd Amiryan worked in the Culture and Tourism Department of the Yerevan Municipality. According to social media posts, he currently resides in the United States.

    Zaruhi Karakhanyan has served as Director of Avtoradio LLC since 2016.

    She is the sister of Vakhtang Karakhanyan, who has served as General Producer of Avtoradio since 2005. As of March 2025, she holds a 1% ownership stake in Radiotun LLC, a company founded by her brother.

    In September 2025, Zaruhi Karakhanyan, along with several other key figures in the radio industry, founded National Radio Aggregator LLC. Her co-founders included director Anna Arevshatyan, daughter of Shushanik Arevshatyan (Director and 10% owner of Radio Van); Mikayel Janpoladyan, founder of Radio Aurora; Ruzanna Shahinyan, owner of Kiss FM; and Kristina Khachatryan. The company's charter does not specify the activities that National Radio Aggregator will pursue.

The Avtoradio website also features the logo of Armen Amiryan's other radio station, Yerevan FM. The company does not identify the radio program's chief editor or disclose the number of employees.
