Shant TV
"Shant" is a private television company founded by Arthur Yezekyan in 1994 in Gyumri, Armenia's second-largest city. Initially it was a news service available only in the Shirak region. In 2000, the television company relocated to Yerevan and subsequently acquired nationwide coverage. In recent years, it has introduced a series of new programs that are mainly entertainment in nature. Additionally, it has launched the "Shant Digital TV" service, which allows users to watch Armenian and international channels on a paid basis. The company frequently appears in court with demands for forced collection of unpaid wages.

Facts
| Founding Year | 1994 According to the most recent data from the State Register of Legal Entities of Armenia, Shant TV's founding year is listed as 1994, while its formal company registration occurred in 1995. However, the registry's initial publication—commonly referenced for establishment details—shows only 1995, and numerous media reports consistently cite 1995 as the founding year. This discrepancy creates additional complications regarding the founders themselves. Based on 1995 registry records, another founder is mentioned alongside Arthur Yezekyan (49.99993%): Tsolak Kandaryan appears with the same registration date, holding a 0.000081% share. The State Register of Legal Entities of Armenia could not clarify this inaccuracy because the archival case has been seized. |
