Factor Information Center NGO owns the news website factor.am. According to the State Revenue Committee, the organization is classified as a news agency.


As an NGO, the organization has no shareholders but accepts individual members through written application. The president decides on membership applications. Rejected applicants may appeal to the Board, which decides by simple majority vote.


According to the charter, the organization's supreme governing body is the general meeting, the collegial body is the Board, and the executive body is the director. The general meeting has final authority on all organizational matters and makes decisions by majority vote when more than half of members attend.


The NGO was founded by human rights activists and journalists to support civil society through information projects and advocate for social justice principles. Factor.am publishes political and social coverage, investigative reports, debates, and interviews.

Factor Information Center NGO was founded by four human rights activists and journalists to support civil society through information projects and advocate for social justice principles.

  • Arevhat Sahakyan

    Arevhat Sahakyan is one of the co-founders of the NGO. Since its founding, she has also held the position of director with breaks. From 2017 to 2020, she was also the editor-in-chief of factor.am. In 2020, Arevhat Sahakyan announced that she had decided to stop working. In 2021, she returned to factor.am, taking the position of director.

    According to the biographical information provided by the media outlet, Arevhat Sahakyan began his journalistic career in 1995, corresponding with the “Republic of Armenia” newspaper. Sahakyan worked at “Hanrayin”, “Ar” (currently not operating), “Armenia” TV companies, “Aravot”, “Zhoghovurd” newspapers, lragir.am, civilnet.am, A1+, 1in.am media outlets. From 2002 to 2004, she was an informed advisor to the Mayor of Yerevan, press secretary to the Chief Architect. From 2004 to 2007, she was the media manager of the Yerevan Construction Center. From 2008 to 2012, she worked as a media consultant at the Narek Sargsyan Architectural Studio.

  • Avetik Ishkhanyan

    Ishkhanyan was a human rights activist who founded the Helsinki Committee of Armenia human rights NGO in 1996. He authored numerous scientific works and publicistic articles. He died in February 2025.

  • Artur Sakunts

    Sakunts is a human rights activist and president of the Vanadzor Office of the Helsinki Citizens' Assembly. He frequently appears as an expert commentator in various media outlets.

  • Levon Barseghyan

    Barseghyan is a public figure and co-founder of the Asparez Club of Journalists in Gyumri. He was elected to Gyumri Community Council in 2012 under the majoritarian system. In 2025, he ran as the European Alliance party candidate for mayor of Gyumri but did not pass the electoral threshold.
