Shark LLC operates 5th Channel television station, broadcast on the public multiplex with coverage limited to Yerevan, and 5 Plus cable TV channel. Founded in 1995, the company previously operated Ararat TV channel before establishing 5th Channel in 2018.

Ararat TV was associated with the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), led by Armenia's third president Serzh Sargsyan. The station operated from the same address as RPA headquarters on Melik-Adamyan Street in Yerevan. RPA parliamentary faction MP Mihran Hakobyan served as editor of news and political programs.

Previous shareholders included Artak Poghosyan, member of the RPA Council and director of the National Center for Educational Technologies SNCO, and Aleksandr Haroyan. According to the State Register, former MP and RPA member Arman Sahakyan also previously held shares. These shareholders sold to Armen Tavadyan.

Tavadyan is currently the sole shareholder of Shark LLC. Media and court documents identify him as affiliated with Armenia's second president Robert Kocharyan. He participated in protests supporting Kocharyan. Regarding potential conflict of interest, Tavadyan stated he does not interfere in 5th Channel's operations.
