Kima Mkrtchyan

Kima Mkrtchyan became the majority owner of Dareskizb LLC in January 2014, acquiring a 70% stake after her daughter, Anna Hakobyan—wife of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan—transferred her shares at an extraordinary general meeting. Through Dareskizb LLC, Mkrtchyan controls the media outlet armtimes.com. The ownership change was contested when participant Petros Makeyan filed a lawsuit over the charter amendment, claiming he was not informed and learned of the transaction only in 2021. This led to both criminal and civil proceedings: a criminal case was opened in August 2022, temporarily suspending the civil lawsuit until the criminal investigation was closed in June 2025. As of October 2025, the civil case remains before the court.

Mkrtchyan also attracted media scrutiny for not declaring her commercial interests in official asset disclosures. According to Hetq, she qualifies as a declarant because her son, Hrachya Hakobyan, is a Member of Parliament, but she did not report any business participation in her 2019 and 2020 filings. Her role as owner of a significant media outlet and the surrounding legal and transparency issues have placed her under ongoing public and regulatory attention.
