Petros Makeyan

Petros Makeyan is one of the founders of Dareskizb LLC and retains his 10% stake in the company. He graduated from Gyumri Pedagogical Institute with a degree in physics and from Irkutsk Institute of National Economy with a degree in economics.

Makeyan participated in the Karabakh Movement and served as a deputy of the Artik District Council before becoming chairman of the district executive committee, a position he held until the districts were dissolved. He was subsequently elected to the National Assembly and to the board of the Armenian National Movement party. From 1996 to 1997, he served as Deputy Governor of Shirak. After developing disagreements with the ruling elite, Makeyan formed the Hayrenik parliamentary group and declared himself in opposition. Shortly after, he was dismissed from his post as deputy governor.

The Hayrenik group established the Democratic Homeland party, of which Makeyan was elected vice-chairman in 1999 and chairman in 2000. The party was later renamed Victory and has been chaired by Viktor Mnatsakanyan since 2023.

In 2006, Makeyan founded the Alternative socio-political initiative. He participated in the 2007 parliamentary elections as part of the Impeachment alliance. In the 2008 presidential elections, he supported Levon Ter-Petrosyan. In 2012, he ran in the parliamentary elections as a candidate from the Armenian National Congress alliance. In 2017, he initiated and coordinated the Front for the State of Armenia, a coalition aimed at preventing Serzh Sargsyan from becoming Prime Minister.

Makeyan filed a lawsuit regarding the transfer of Anna Hakobyan's share to her mother, Kima Mkrtchyan. His public statements suggest strained relations with Prime Minister Pashinyan and his inner circle.
